Worst-to-first — the 1991 season
The 1991 Minnesota Twins finished last in the AL West in 1990. The 1991 Atlanta Braves finished last in the NL West in 1990. Then those two teams played what many consider the greatest World Series ever played — six of seven games decided by one run, four decided in the final at-bat, three that went extra innings — and the Twins won it in ten.
